Uplitycs vs PostHog
PostHog is a product suite with a big free tier. Uplitycs is the website tool that does not record people or surprise you later.
Why Uplitycs instead of PostHog
PostHog is excellent when the question is which user dropped out of onboarding. That is a different question from “how many people opened the pricing page, and is it up?”
Uplitycs will not session-record anyone, will not build a person record, and will not bill you per replay. It will count the page, show who is here now, and email you when a URL fails. $19 is the price, not the start of a usage invoice.
Pricing and features
Thirteen rows. Same questions on every comparison, so the gap is easy to see. Uplitycs prices below are the public Free, Pro, and Max plans.
| PostHog | Uplitycs | |

| Starting price | Free tier, then usage pricing | Free, then $6, $19, or $39 |
| Free plan | Yes. About 1 million analytics events, plus caps on replays and flags | Yes. 10,000 events and 1 website |

| Cookies | Optional. The suite can identify users | No analytics cookie |
| Script | A larger SDK once you use the suite | Under 1kb |
| Profile of each visitor | Yes, if you identify users. Session replay exists | No. Counts of visits only |
| Uptime checks | Not a website uptime monitor | Yes. 1 page on Free, 3 on paid |

| Team | Unlimited members on the free tier | 10 people on Pro, 30 on Max |
| Custom events | Yes. Funnels, cohorts, flags, replays | Yes. One track() call |
| People on the site now | Yes, inside product analytics | Yes. Who is here now |

What the bill actually does
PostHog’s free analytics allowance is generous, around a million events. The cost shows up when events, replays, and flags all tick, or when a chatty integration blows past the tier.
Uplitycs has one meter: events. Free is 10,000. Lite is 250,000 for $6. Pro is 2 million for $19. Max is 10 million for $39. Hit the cap and collection stops. You opt into a higher plan. You do not discover it on an invoice.
Make the switch
Use PostHog for product funnels inside an app. Put Uplitycs on the marketing site, the docs, and the status page. They are not competing for the same hour of your week.
Paste the Uplitycs tag, open the site once, and the first visit verifies it. The demo is public if you want the charts before you create an account.
