Uplitycs vs Google Analytics
Google Analytics is free until you count the banner, the tag, and the visitor profiles. Uplitycs is the lighter bill.
Why Uplitycs instead of Google Analytics
Google Analytics looks free. The real cost is the cookie banner, a script that dwarfs a 1kb tag, and a profile of each visitor you now have to explain.
Uplitycs answers the questions a site owner actually asks: which pages, where from, who is here now, and is the site up. Free covers 10,000 events. Pro is $19 for 2 million events, 20 websites, uptime checks, and a public status page.
Pricing and features
Thirteen rows. Same questions on every comparison, so the gap is easy to see. Uplitycs prices below are the public Free, Pro, and Max plans.
| Google Analytics | Uplitycs | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | Free for the standard product | Free, then $6, $19, or $39 |
| Free plan | Yes, with a heavy product attached | Yes. 10,000 events and 1 website |
| Around 2 million events | Still free, still profiling | $19 on Pro covers 2 million events |
| Cookies | Yes, in the usual setup | No analytics cookie |
| Script | Large, often via a tag manager | Under 1kb |
| Profile of each visitor | Yes. That is the product | No. Counts of visits only |
| Uptime checks | Not included | Yes. 1 page on Free, 3 on paid |
| Public status page | Not included | Yes. Public page, 90 days |
| Team | Google account permissions | 10 people on Pro, 30 on Max |
| Custom events | Yes, after a longer setup | Yes. One track() call |
| People on the site now | Yes, inside a much bigger suite | Yes. Who is here now |
| At the monthly cap | Sampling and limits, not a simple stop | Collection stops. The bill does not jump |
| Setup | Property, stream, tag, and usually a consent banner | One tag. First visit verifies the site |
What the bill actually does
A standard Google Analytics property does not send an invoice. You still pay for consent tooling, tag-manager weight, and the time spent inside a report catalog built for ads.
Uplitycs stays on a posted price. At 80% of the cap you get a warning. At 100% new events stop. A busy day cannot raise the bill by itself.
Make the switch
Keep Google Analytics only if you buy Google Ads or you truly need a funnel that follows one person. For the public site, Uplitycs is the faster, calmer choice.
Paste the Uplitycs tag, open the site once, and the first visit verifies it. The demo is public if you want the charts before you create an account.
