Uplitycs vs Mixpanel
Mixpanel prices user behavior. Uplitycs prices page counts and uptime, and it starts at zero.
Why Uplitycs instead of Mixpanel
Mixpanel earns its fee when a growth team is slicing retention. It is the wrong shape for a homepage. You do not need a cohort to know that /pricing was the second most opened page.
Uplitycs is that page count, plus the live number, plus the status page. The script stays under 1kb. There is no profile to delete later because the profile was never stored.
Pricing and features
Thirteen rows. Same questions on every comparison, so the gap is easy to see. Uplitycs prices below are the public Free, Pro, and Max plans.
| Mixpanel | Uplitycs | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | Free tier, then usage. Growth is often cited from about $0.28 per 1,000 events | Free, then $6, $19, or $39 |
| Free plan | Yes, commonly up to 1 million events | Yes. 10,000 events and 1 website |
| Around 2 million events | 2 million events is already on the paid meter | $19 on Pro covers 2 million events |
| Cookies | Typical client SDK identifies people | No analytics cookie |
| Script | A product SDK, not a 1kb page counter | Under 1kb |
| Profile of each visitor | Yes. Cohorts and profiles are the point | No. Counts of visits only |
| Uptime checks | Not included | Yes. 1 page on Free, 3 on paid |
| Public status page | Not included | Yes. Public page, 90 days |
| Team | Seats and roles on a product-analytics plan | 10 people on Pro, 30 on Max |
| Custom events | Yes. Funnels, retention, cohorts | Yes. One track() call |
| People on the site now | Yes, as part of the suite | Yes. Who is here now |
| At the monthly cap | The free tier ends and the per-event price begins | Collection stops. The bill does not jump |
| Setup | A tracking plan, identity, and an SDK | One tag. First visit verifies the site |
What the bill actually does
Mixpanel’s free tier covers a lot of product events. After it, public pricing is usage-based, and a busy app at a few million events is a real monthly bill. None of that money checks if the marketing site returns HTTP 200.
Uplitycs Pro is $19 for 2 million website events and the uptime checks. Max is $39 for 10 million. The price is on the pricing page before you paste the tag.
Make the switch
Keep Mixpanel on the product if the team lives in funnels. Move the website to Uplitycs and stop paying product-analytics rates for page views.
Paste the Uplitycs tag, open the site once, and the first visit verifies it. The demo is public if you want the charts before you create an account.
